Trine Dean, Union College Awards, & Managing Partner (June 2019)

Ryan A. Overton, Ph.D., P.E. (TN A ’08) has been named dean of the Allen School of Engineering and Technology at Trine University (IN). Dr. Overton currently serves as an associate professor and chair of the civil and environmental engineering department at Trine.

He will begin his new position on August 5. His bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees are in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee. Read the news announcement for more details on Dr. Overton who also serves as TBP Chief Advisor to the Indiana Epsilon Chapter.

The Union College department of athletics recently held its annual Senior Student-Athlete Awards Ceremony. Several Tau Bates were honored, including: (See the full list.)

Jennifer L. Nutter – (NY M 2020) Stephen Ritterbush ’68 Award for well-rounded scholar-athlete (women’s swimming), bioengineering grad, and past TBP New York Mu Chapter vice president.

Brendan A. Laing – (NY M 2020) Award for Community Service and Community Outreach, bioengineering grad, and men’s basketball team member.

Joana P. Santos – (NY M 2020) Junior Scholar Athlete of the Year Award (women’s basketball), mechanical engineering major, and TBP New York Mu Chapter vice president.

The first female to hold the title of managing partner at Gammage & Burnham is Heather Boysel, AZ B ’04, where she also leads the health care practice group.

Boysel earned her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Arizona State University and served as treasurer of the AZ Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. Read a profile of Boysen for more biographical details, including being selected for the 2019 Phoenix Business Journal “40 Under 40” list.
