The New York Rho Chapter of Tau Beta Pi at NYU Tandon School of Engineering recently welcomed new members during an April 9 initiation. In addition, the chapter has plans for a re-dedication of the Bent monument on campus.

Jonathan W. Zheng, VA A 2020, is part of a student duo researching a better way to convert methane, a byproduct of oil drilling, into methanol, a liquid that can be used directly as a fuel or as an alternative to petroleum.
Zheng is a third-year chemical engineering major at the University of Virginia and serves as the VA Alpha Chapter president of Tau Beta Pi. Read the news article for information on the graduate-undergraduate research team and their project.
Idaho State University and the ISU Alumni Association have announced the 2019 Outstanding Student Award recipients. The 14 outstanding graduating seniors will be honored at the Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 4.
According to the announcement, Eighdi Aung, ID B 2019, a mechanical engineering and physics double-major is among those to be recognized. He serves as ID Beta Chapter treasurer of Tau Beta Pi and has performed research identifying stall precursors in jet engines.
