Glass Pioneer, Jobs, & OSU Scholars Program (August 2017)

Steven B. Jung, Ph.D. (MO B ’06), is CTO of Mo-Sci Corporation, a custom glass solutions company located minutes from the Missouri S&T campus. Dr. Jung began working there almost immediately after completing his Ph.D. dissertation. An article from Missouri S&T Magazine, profiles Jung and his relationship with Mo-Sci Corp. founder and S&T professor emeritus Delbert E. Day, Ph.D. (MO B ’58).

Jung and Day began collaborating on research “into the effect of borate-based glasses on soft tissue.” This has led to Jung becoming a Dr. Day protégé with 15 U.S. and foreign patents to his name. Click here to read the article for more information on their relationship and the “bioresorbable” bandage made from glass that simultaneously promotes soft tissue growth.
