Univ. of Kentucky Awards, RPI Initiates, & WMU Presidential Scholars

On April 18, the annual College of Engineering Awards Banquet sponsored by the local Tau Beta Pi chapter at the University of Kentucky was held. A recap and list of all awards and recipients was published. Many of the awardees are Tau Bates, including:

Engineering Alumni Association Senior Leadership Award: Joshua B. Feinn (KY A 2017), Lindsey M. Gillaspie (KY A 2017)
Tau Beta Pi Most Outstanding Senior: Grant Boggess (KY A 2017), chapter president
Tau Beta Pi Most Outstanding Professor: Tom Dziubla, Ph.D. (IN A ’98), associate professor
Dr. Bruce L. Walcott Tau Beta Pi Most Outstanding Service Award: Suzanne Weaver Smith, Ph.D., P.E. (SC A ’77), professor

Western Michigan University’s has named fifty students from the 5,900-member senior class as 2017 Presidential Scholars. The annual Presidential Scholar designation is the highest honor WMU can bestow on an undergraduate. The award goes to the most outstanding seniors in each of the University’s academic schools, departments and specialty programs. Several are Tau Beta Pi members, including: (See the news announcement for the full list.)

Alec Ingram (MI K 2017) – civil & construction engineering
Sarah K. Seng (MI K 2016) – electrical & computer engineering
Michelle M. Valente (MI K 2017) – industrial & entrepreneurial Engineering and engineering management
Daniel J. VanZweden (MI K 2018) – chemical & paper engineering
