Adam R. KlieCA Y 2017, a senior majoring in bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego, first team All-American, and Academic All-American of the year for Div. II men’s basketball. He is a two-time first team Academic All-American, UCSD’s career leader in points/rebounds/ & field goals made, and maintains a 4.0 GPA.

MIT News recently profiled Zach R. Hulcher, MA B 2017, for his scholastic and athletic accomplishments at MIT. Hulcher is a 2017 Marshal Scholar and will pursue a Ph.D. in high energy physics at Cambridge University later this year. He is a senior majoring in physics as well as computer science and electrical engineering, with a minor in math and is a member of the MIT varsity football team as an offensive lineman.

According to the article, Hulcher’s interest in sports began at a young age and his interest in math was supported by a high school teacher that encouraged him to join the school’s math team. He has spent two summers in Switzerland working at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator. He plans “to keep liking physics” with the hopes of becoming a researcher and professor.

Mac Hoffman, NY U 2017, has been voted to the men’s basketball Academic All-Patriot League Team. He is an Army West Point senior majoring in systems engineering. He is a forward and team captain on the men’s basketball team.
