MA Epsilon 75th Anniversary, USAFA Opening, & OH Alpha Tutoring (Dec. 2016)

Chief Advisor of the Massachusetts Epsilon Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, Tom Sheahan, Sc.D., P.E. (NY M ’81), and chapter president Ashley M. Testa, MA E 2017, commemorated the 75th anniversary of the installation of the MA Epsilon Chapter. The 78th chapter of Tau Beta Pi, MA Epsilon, was established on December 13, 1941.

USAJOBS, a U.S. Office of Personnel Management website, posted an opening for an assistant professor of systems engineering at the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA). The position will begin on June 1, 2017, and “is in the excepted civil service.”

USAFA is located north of Colorado Springs, applicants must be U.S. citizens, and have a doctoral degree completed by the application deadline. Candidates with a record of peer-reviewed research and publications as well as systems engineering teaching experience are highly desirable.  Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.

On Sunday, December 11, the Ohio Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Case Western Reserve University, will host Core Cram. This event is hosted each semester during finals week to “help other students focus on final exam studying and get advice from older students.”

This year in addition to offering tutoring on engineering and science core classes, OH Alpha has partnered with two other campus societies to allow for a broader focus and more diversified mentors. Click here to learn more about Core Cram, which includes free food.
