Gliimpse, Alumni Events, & Virtru

The USA Today is reporting that Apple has acquired the personal health data start-up Gliimpse. According to the article, Gliimpse “takes a patient’s medical records and uses coding to produce a personalized, shareable electronic health record.”

Anil Sethi, DC B ’83, is the founder and CEO of Glimpse. Sethi has been involved with many health start-ups, is a past systems engineer at Apple Computer, and earned his bachelor’s in biomedical engineering from the Catholic University of America.

Virtru, an email and file encryption application, has announced that it has grown to more than 4,000 customers and closed on $29 million in Series A funding. Virtru was launched in 2014, co-founded by brothers John and Will R. Ackerly, IN B ’04. Will was previously a cloud security engineer with the NSA and earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (IN).
