STAR Director, REPID Scholar, & SE Manager (June 2016)

Dick Layton, NY L ’63, has been announced as the new director of the STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). The STAR Institute is the newly merged organization of STAR Center and SPD Foundation. According to the press release, the newly defined vision of the STAR Institute is “a world in which all people with sensory processing disorder and feeding disorders receive support and services that result in having a meaningful and fulfilled life.”

The biographical information provided on Layton details his serving as a board member for multiple non-profit organizations, as an adjunct professor at Colorado Christian University, and working as the CEO of Vanguard Business Solutions for the last 15 years.

Michigan State University (MSU) graduating senior Anand Saripalli, MI A 2016, has been named a 2016 Scholar in the MSU Research Education Program to Increase Diversity in Health Researchers (REPID). Saripalli graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a concentration in biomedical engineering. He plans to continue his work on biomedical research with the goal of being accepted into a medical school.

In a recent press release, Comprehensive Technical Group (CTG) announced the hiring of Pejman J. Kazemi, TX H ’94, as its new systems engineering manager. Kazemi will be responsible for leading CTG’s system & storage engineering teams within the IT department. He brings 25+ years of IT experience in a variety of industries and verticals. Previously, Kazemi was a senior systems engineer at Intercontinental Hotels Group and has also worked for AT&T/Bell South, Intel Corp., and IBM Corp.
