On Monday, April 18, the Colorado Zeta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi at the United States Air Force Academy hosted its spring 2016 initiation. Members of the local Pikes Peak Alumni Chapter were on hand to watch the ceremony and attend the dinner. Pikes Peak President Lt. Col. Kurt P. Rouser, OH H ’11, took a picture of the 19 student initiates and one eminent engineer.
Tau Beta Pi was a sponsor and hosted a booth at the recent USA Science & Engineering Festival. The fourth Festival, from April 15-17, welcomed approximately 365,000 attendees. The Association’s booth was manned by 14 volunteers and presented a hands-on egg-drop module for attendees. Roughly 2,500 participants stopped by the TBP booth to build a helmet, meet our volunteers, and learn more about Tau Beta Pi.
The image above was taken by alumni volunteer Katherine A. Dunning, GA A ’88, and shows two volunteers demonstrating a helmet built to protect a cascarones egg to Festival participants.
The Michigan Epsilon Chapter of Tau Beta Pi at Wayne State University hosted its annual “Tau Beta Pi(e)-a-Senior” day this past weekend. The event raised more than $500 to be used for the MI Epsilon student activities such as senior recognition. Members of the College of Engineering community paid to pie members.
