New Initiates, Top Scholars, & EF session (April 2016)

Anthony M. Olenik, NY T ’08, Tau Beta Pi District 2 Director recently attended the spring initiation of the New York Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi at Syracuse University. He posted two images of the seven new initiates, officers, and Bent monument to the TBP District 2 Facebook page. One of the images is below.

Boise State University (BSU) will host the annual Top Ten Scholars reception on Thursday, April 21, presented by the BSU Alumni Association in conjunction with the Honors College. To qualify a student must have a 3.8 or higher GPA, be nominated by their academic dean, and then subject to review by a selection committee. Two Tau Beta Pi members were selected for the 2016 honor, they are:

Lacie K. Rasley, ID G 2016, civil engineering graduating senior. She was a member of the BSU Track and field team and received Academic All-Conference Awards for every semester she competed. Rasley served in four officer capacities for the ID Gamma Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, including three terms as president.

John B. Everingham, ID G 2015, mechanical engineering graduate and currently pursuing his master’s degree. He is the founder and president of a mixed martial arts club and is “designing an experiment to quantify the effects of soft tissue mobilization on ligament healing.”

On Saturday, April 9, the Arkansas Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at the University of Arkansas (U of A), is hosting two Engineering Futures sessions. Attendance is free for all current U of A students and lunch will be provided. Attendees can choose from two sessions being offered, both starting at 10:30am: Effective Presentation Skills or Analytical Problem Solving.
