Student-Athlete Profiles & Professional Soccer Player (February 2016)

Chemical and biomedical engineering senior Jennifer M. Carmichael, OK A 2016, was recently profiled on the University of Oklahoma (OU) athletics website in an article titled “Sooner Athletics’ first lady.” Carmichael is a discus thrower on the OU track and field team and was the “first female OU student-athlete to be a member of the Homecoming Court.”

She serves as the president of OU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, received the 2015 Fred Meyer Guild Memorial Outstanding Female Student Award from the College of Engineering, and she is a past corresponding secretary of the OK Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. The Sacramento Republic FC of the United Soccer League have exercised the contract option on forward Adnan Gabeljic, MO E 2014. Gabeljic, a native of St. Louis, was drafted by Sporting Kansas City in the 2014 MLS Superdraft and is currently training with Liga MX club Atlas FC in Guadalajara, Mexico. The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has announced the 2016 Academic All-District™ Women’s Basketball teams, including Division I, II, III, and college (division). All First Team Academic All-District selections advance to the national Capital One Academic All-American ballot.

One potential Tau Beta Pi member has been named to the 2016 Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Basketball teams. (See the full list)

Sabrina Drammis – (MA B 2016) MIT, computer science & engineering (eligible w/initiation in Feb. 2016). She is a three-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honoree and has already accepted a software engineering position at Second Spectrum following graduation.
