The University of Missouri (MU) has a new dean of the College of Engineering. Elizabeth G. Loboa, Ph.D. (CA L ’95), is the new dean. Previously, Dr. Loboa was associate chair and professor of the joint department of biomedical engineering at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University. She is the 11th full-time dean of the MU College of Engineering’s history and first female dean. Read the press release for more information.
Richard J. Koubek, Ph.D. (OH M ’85), has been named executive vice president and provost of Louisiana State University (LSU). Dr. Koubek served in academia for 23 years before becoming the dean of the LSU College of Engineering in 2009. In his new role, he serves as “the chief academic affairs officer for the LSU Board of Supervisors and all of its campuses and institutions, and serves as the provost for the LSU campus.”

Effective January 1, 2016, Ann L. Kenimer, Ph.D., P.E. (IL A ’90), was appointed interim dean of Texas A&M University at Qatar. Currently, Dr. Kenimer is a professor of engineering and associate provost for undergraduate studies at Texas A&M’s main campus in College Station, TX.
According to the announcement, she “will be responsible for the administration and management of Texas A&M at Qatar’s academic, research and public service programs, as well as for providing vision and direction for the campus.” In addition, Dr. Kenimer serves as vice chair of operations and a member of the executive committee for the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.
