The first doctorate program in aerospace engineering in the state of Utah will begin welcoming students this fall. The Ph.D. program at Utah State University (USU) in the College of Engineering will begin this fall semester. According to the article from KSL TV (UT), “the program will focus on the design, development and testing of rockets, spacecraft, airplanes and missiles.”

Associate professor at USU David K. Geller, Ph.D. (UT G ’82), spoke about the opportunities the new Ph.D. program can create. “Given the large concentration of aerospace industries in Utah, USU graduates with a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering will clearly be first in line to fill these available high-paying positions, keeping home-grown talent close to home,” Dr. Geller said.
