Oklahoma State University seeks a “tenure-track faculty at assistant or associate professor level” in the school of materials science & engineering. According to the posting from The Chronicle of Higher Education, “Applicants should have an earned PhD in MSE or a related field and should have research interests complementing thrusts in materials for energy, biological and information technologies. Christopher C. McComb, CA R 2012, was recently profiled on the Smittcamp Family Honors College Facebook page. The honors program is located on the campus of California State University, Fresno, where McComb double majored in civil engineering and mechanical engineering. He is currently the chief advisor to the Tau Beta Pi collegiate chapter at Carnegie Mellon University (PA) and serves the Association as a District (3) Director.

“Since graduating from Fresno State, McComb has received the Tau Beta Pi King Fellowship, the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, and the G. Sundback Graduate Fellowship. He is on track to defend his thesis in 2016, and will pursue a career in academia. As a professor, he plans to research STEM education and the benefits of service learning for technical disciplines.”

Friday, March 6, is the final deadline to join Teach For America (TFA) in the 2014-15 school year. In order to be eligible for Teach For America you must have: (Find out more about the TBP & TFA partnership, here.)

  • A bachelor’s degree by June 2015
  • A 2.50 undergraduate GPA
  • Proof of US citizenship, national/permanent resident status, or deferred action for childhood arrivals
