The 249th chapter of Tau Beta Pi at the University of Texas-Pan American will be installed on Saturday, March 22. The initiation is scheduled to begin at 4pm and TBP alumni in the Edinburg & McAllen, Texas area are welcome to attend. There will also be a celebratory banquet following the initiation. The cost to attend is $20. The deadline to RSVP for the initiation and the banquet is Friday, March 14. See our alumni activities calendar for more information.


On February 20, the Colorado Epsilon Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at the University of Colorado at Denver, partnered with the local chapter of SWE to host the second annual Engineering Job & Internship Fair. This year there were fourteen companies that participated and an estimated 160 engineering students in attendance. One of the event organizers was David N. Brandt, CO E 2012, who is currently a mechanical engineering graduate student at UC Denver and a former vice president of the CO E Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. For more details on the fair, click here


The Helena Independent Record (MT) reported on a recent gift received by the Montana State University College of Engineering. The donation “will be used to build a laboratory and classroom facility called the Norm Asbjornson Innovation Center; after the donor. Asbjornson graduated from MSU with a degree in mechanical engineering and founded AAON, Inc. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Read the article
