On Wednesday, February 5, the Tau Beta Pi New York City Alumni Chapter will host Ms. Susan Taing, founder of bhold LLC. Ms. Taing will discuss her experiences in forming her start-up, discuss 3D printing technology and talk about the products that her company is creating. After her talk, there will be networking and refreshments available. Please contact the NYC alumni chapter president to RSVP.
If you cannot make this event, you are encouraged to add to your calendar the Tau Beta Pi District 2 Conference which will take place in New York City March 1-2. Alumni can attend portions of the conference and there will also be an alumni gathering event on the evening of Saturday, March 1.
The third USA Science & Engineering Festival and free expo will take place April 26-27 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Tau Beta Pi is proud to be hosting a booth at this great event and would encourage you to attend. The expo is open and free to the general public from 9am to 6pm.
The Association will be looking for local volunteers beginning in February. If you are interested in participating or have ideas for our hands-on activity, please contact the TBP MindSET coordinator.
The Alabama Concrete Industries Association (ACIA) recently announced the two recipients of the Alabama Concrete Industries Foundation scholarships. One of this year’s scholars is Jamieson D. Matthews, AL G 2014. Matthews will receive a civil engineering degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and will also receive a degree in Engineering Physics from Samford University.
