Stanley Consultants has announced that Chair Emeritus Richard (Dick) H. Stanley, P.E., has retired from the company. Stanley, IA A ’55, continues to be active as chair of The Stanley Foundation, “a private operation foundation that advances multilateral action to create fair, just, and lasting solutions to critical issues of peace and security.”
He joined Stanley Consultants in 1955 as an engineer-in-training, was elected vice president in 1967, was elected president in 1971, and served as chairman from 1984 until 2007. He was recognized as the 2009 Tau Beta Pi Distinguished Alumnus.

At the Illinois Section of the American Society of Engineers annual dinner meeting, Kane County engineer Carl Schoedel, MO G ’86, was awarded the 2013 Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award. The event took place at Soldier Field, in Chicago, earlier this month. Schoedel was recognized for “professional accomplishments and unique contributions to the civil engineering profession and his generous community service to Kane County.” Read more here
In conjunction with AeroGames, NASA engineer Tracy Drain will be at Rogers State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 25 to give a presentation about Jupiter.
