The SeacoastOnline.com recently profiled Nickie Hunter (MA A ’93), a New Hampshire Dept. of Transportation engineer. In her role as a district construction engineer she oversees a staff of 19 and is “responsible for all contract construction projects big and small in the southern part of New Hampshire.” She earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. A tech startup created by four seniors from Carnegie Mellon University was recently named as one of the top 12 “America’s Coolest College Startups” for 2013. PayTango, “a fingerprint-based identification and payment system, allows users to keep their mountains of magnetic card information at their literal fingertips,” is the result of a new Tech Lab course at CMU.
