The Oredigger Newspaper reported on the Castle of Cans event, a food donation drive and creativity event. The Colorado Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at the Colorado School of Mines, participated in this year’s event. They received an honorable mention in the “most weight” category and won third place for the “most creative” and “best overall structure.” Read the article
The first winner of the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering will be announced in the spring of 2013. Several Tau Bates are on the judges panel for this “global prize recognizing and celebrating outstanding advances in engineering that have changed the world,” including:

In the November issue of PRISM, the 2013 nominations for the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Board Election were announced. Several Tau Bates are candidates for election, including Dr. Ruby Mawasha (OH K ’97) and Dr. Bevlee Watford (VA B ’81).
