Virgina Tech has announced that Dr. Scott F. Midkiff, NC G ’79, will become the university’s vice president for information technology and chief information officer beginning in October. Currently, Dr. Midkiff is a professor and head of the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. Read the news release

Rueters recently profiled a new water sources app and database and its creator John Feighery, Ph.D. (TX Q ’99). Feighery is now founding partner of mWater, which “has opened a water sources database for others to use and compare with their own databases.” According to the website, “water sources can be unambiguously identified and labeled for a variety of applications.”
