The South End, the official student newspaper of Wayne State University, recently highlighted the Michigan Epsilon chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Wayne State, for winning the R.C. Matthews Outstanding Chapter Award at the 2011 Convention.
In the article, the MI Epsilon president and vice president were interviewed and discussed the reasons for the chapter’s success. It was also mentioned that Tau Beta Pi Executive Director, Secretary-Treasurer and Editor of THE BENT, Curt Gomulinski, was a previous chapter president at MI E in 1999 when the chapter last won the R.C. Matthews Award.
Dr. Earl H. Dowell, IL A ’59, has been named to a new term as chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences at Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering. Dr. Dowell has been serving as chair since 2010, and his new term will run through June of 2015.
He has been a member of Duke’s faculty for 29 years, including serving as dean of the School of Engineering from 1983-1999. Click here to read the news release
