The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Rice University has selected Dr. Michael J. Massimino, NY A ’84, to lead its space institute. Dr. Massimino is a NASA astronaut who flew on the last two Hubble Space Telescope repair missions. He is also an adjunct professor of engineering at Rice.
“From the perspective of the students at Rice, I want them to know they’re not that far from NASA,” Dr. Massimino said. “For the graduate students and professors doing research at Rice, we want to foster better communication and cooperation with NASA.” Read the article
